The Tall Pines
Experience a little bit of Eastern Promise when you stay in our traditional Mongolian-made yurt. Unlike a tent, this dwelling is constructed with an inner latticed frame and roof poles. The inner layer wadding is a three layer system and the outer cover is silicone treated poly-canvas for water proofing. For insulation, the roof and walls are made from 100% sheeps wool felt and the inner layer is white polyester, which covers the felt and allows light to reflect around the yurt. The floor is also insulated. This makes it perfectly adapted to suit the Scottish climate. For your comfort, inside there is a 4.5kw wood burning stove which keeps you warm and cosy in all weathers, double bed with foam mattress, bed settee, chest of drawers with mirror and a kitchen area with cooker and grill. Bedding, towels, toiletries and tea/coffee are provided.
Our ethos is to make our facilities as ecologically sustainable as possible. In this respect all amenities are off-grid. Lighting is solar powered as is the pump to the shower and the fan for the compost toilet. This solar panel also provides power for charging phones, laptops etc.
