Studio
The yurt will be closed from the 1st of November 2021 and reopens 14th March 2022
Due to essential building work, including upgrading the outside facillities, the Studio will be shut over the winter and will re-open on 14th March 2022, in line with the yurt.
We have put into place procedures that will keep our guests and community safe:-
For our guests safety and reassurance, the yurt and studio will have been deep-cleaned and dry-fogged with anti-viral mist prior to every arrival. This means all handled items such as crockery, cutlery, glasses, utensils and cooking vessels will have been misted and toiletries and bottled soaps will have been wiped down with alcohol wipes. All bedding and coverings will be washed on a 60 degree cycle.
We will provided hand sanitiser and antiviral wipes for our guests use.
We intend to fully comply with Scottish Government guidelines, updating where necessary, in order to keep our business safe for everyone.
Experience a little bit of Eastern Promise when you stay in our traditional Mongolian-made yurt. Unlike a tent, this dwelling is constructed with an inner latticed frame and roof poles. The inner layer wadding is a three layer system and the outer cover is silicone treated poly-canvas for water proofing. For insulation, the roof and walls are made from 100% sheeps wool felt and the inner layer is white polyester, which covers the felt and allows light to reflect around the yurt. The floor is also insulated. This makes it perfectly adapted to suit the Scottish climate. For your comfort, inside there is a 4.5kw wood burning stove which keeps you warm and cosy in all weathers, double bed with foam mattress, bed settee, chest of drawers with mirror and a kitchen area with cooker and grill. Bedding, towels, toiletries and tea/coffee are provided.
Our ethos is to make our facilities as eco-friendly as possible. In this respect all amenities are off-grid. Lighting is solar powered as is the pump to the shower and the fan for the compost toilet. This solar panel also provides power for charging phones, laptops etc.
