The yurt is closed during the winter months from 31st October 2021 through to 14th March 2022.  The Studio is usually open all year however we will be having essential building and maintenance work done over the winter and therefore the studio will open on March 14th in line with the yurt.

Price Reductions

Many of our guests who have booked only one or two nights in the yurt have commented to us that they wished they could have stayed longer.  That is the unique experience that the yurt gives to our guests - great panoramic sea views across the Moray Firth, a beautiful, relaxed and private setting with nothing but the sound of the birds and the crashing waves to disturb you.

For 2022 we are continuing our offer of a discount of £10 off the price of the 3rd night and off each night booked thereafter (within a single booking of 3 nights or more).

For example, 2 guests booked in for 7 nights would cost £590 a saving of £50.00.

Q.     Do I need to bring my own towels?

All toiletries and towels are supplied as are washing-up liquid, sponges and tea towels.  In the yurt we also have cooking oils, paper towels and cooking foil.

Q.     Is there somewhere I can park?

The yurt has its own parking area which can accommodate 1 large vehicle.  There is also room for a second vehicle which can be parked in the second shared driveway to the house and which is next to the parking area. The bunkhouse has parking for 3 vehicles.  We also have facillities to store cycles undercover.  Please indicate in the 'Additional Information' section of the form if any of these spaces are required.

Q.     Do I need to bring a cot for my baby?

We can supply a travel cot, if requested, however,, for your child's safety, please bring your own mattress and cot bedding.

Q.     Where is the nearest petrol station?

If you are travelling from the north, our advice is that you fill up at Tesco's in Wick as there are no further filling stations before Helmsdale.  From the south, the best  and cheapest place is Asda at Tain however there are two filling stations at Brora one of which is open 24 hours.  Wick and Tain are about 40 miles from Helmsdale,  Brora is 10 miles away.

Q.     Are there any places to eat nearby

Helmsdale is a 10 minute walk away where there are two restaurants, 2 cafes and 2 pub restaurants.  La Mirage restaurant also has a           take-away fish and chip shop.
